Achint Satsangi.
I turn messy engineering problems into small solutions, and I write down what I learn on the way.
A short version.
I was a teacher before I was an engineer, and the habit stuck: I still prepare students at my alma mater for job interviews, and I share what I learn on LinkedIn every week. At TCS Mumbai I shipped one of India’s first online mutual-fund trading platforms. In Johannesburg, a rules engine non-engineers could read. In Oslo, on and off since 2014 and for good since 2019: messaging, payments, logistics. I gravitate to systems that fail loudly if you get them wrong.
“Combines profound technical abilities with excellent architectural insight… Achint was a pillar in our team.”
“He got more responsibility and ended up as teamlead for one of the teams.”
“Always looking for ways to simplify and improve, be it the way of working or core Java.”
“One of the smartest Java developers I have worked with.”
What I believe about work.
01 No code is the best code. Add only what earns its cost.
02 Plan for the failure, not the demo.
03 Hold the seam between teams. Teach the person next to me so they can do the thing without me.
How I think about AI.
I’ve been building with LLMs since ChatGPT shipped in November 2022: customer-facing features in production, and daily use to lift my own and my team’s throughput. I’m a skeptic and an enthusiast. I ship AI features and I question AI plans that don’t name a problem. A published argument on how to regulate the layer above it.
“AI for X, because Y, replacing what Z does today” is a strategy; “AI” alone is not. What I want to work on next: the seam between domain experts and AI systems, with real solutions for people I can name: the users of the platforms I ship on and my peers at work.
Off the clock.
Married, two kids.
Gardening projects, walks, swimming, and a walking pad under the desk so I can walk while I work.

If something here sparked a thought, whether it's a problem you're stuck on, a research collaboration, volunteer work, a conference talk, a coffee in Oslo, or a different take on AI regulation, I'd like to hear it.
